Lars Sandås
The common denominator in much of my work is my interest for “invisible stories”. By focusing on phenomena, problems and historical events I feel we - as a society - need to pay more attention to, I illuminate underexposed parts of reality.
In the pieces Små monumenter (2019), In Ruins: Syria (2018-), Narkoatlas - Oslo (2016), 34 1/2 år (2014) and En familietragedie (2011), I comment on societal and political themes like outsiderness, distrubution of wealth, injustice and violence, all of which are common themes in my art.
34 1/2 år, 2014, temporary / painting / video, 3x6m. Exhibited at Spriten Kunsthall, Skien, 01/03 to 12/04/2014. The work consists of an organic curve and symbols painted on the wall. The curve is a timeline that tells the life story of an Iraqi refugee living in Norway.
